STP is actively involved in many initiatives with the aim of promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics in society. Our Science Outreach activities include workshops and seminars for children and young people in Polish Saturday Schools and other Polish Cultural centres in the UK.
As part of British Science Week, the largest festival of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in Great Britain, STP organises its own weekend of lectures and workshops presented by STP members, supporters and guests. The aim is to provide an insight, for the younger generation, into scientific issues, current areas of research, as well as inspiration to consider choosing a career in engineering and technology. The subject matter of the talks reaches beyond the normal school curriculum, supplementing and enriching knowledge already gained.
The activities are run by Polish engineers and scientists working in the UK allowing the listeners to hear and learn scientific and technical phraseology in Polish.
